KRIK

KRIK breaks investigative stories that other outlets republish within minutes, taking the traffic with them. Their app puts each story on readers’ phones the moment it publishes, so the audience arrives at KRIK first rather than at whoever copied it fastest. Direct push replaced a dependency on platforms and aggregators.

DAN

DAN was one of Montenegro’s strongest newspapers in print, with an audience that had moved to phones. Digital editions, subscriptions and a mobile app carried the transition without giving up the editorial identity that made the paper matter in the first place. Print heritage turned into a digital position rather than a liability.

Greek Basketball League

Leagues face the club problem multiplied: fixtures, results and standings across dozens of teams, and fans who want all of it live. The Greek Basket League app runs largely on autopilot: articles come from the league’s own website, live scores and statistics sync straight from the data provider, and gamification keeps fans engaged between matchdays. Nobody on staff updates anything by hand.

Croatian Basketball Federation

The Croatian Basketball Association covers men’s and women’s leagues, junior competitions and the national teams, and each fan follows only part of that. Games, standings, box scores and play-by-play arrive from the data provider, news and video from the federation’s own channels, and notifications are switchable per competition, so following one league doesn’t mean hearing about all of them. Live match alerts update in place instead of firing again for every basket.

SAT Media

SAT built a following of car and motoring enthusiasts who wanted more than articles to read. The app turns reading into participation: points for engagement, rewards for loyalty, and content shaped around what each follower actually cares about. It gives a committed niche audience a reason to keep coming back rather than passing through.

Boom 93

Boom 93 is an institution in Požarevac, and its audience is local by definition. The app opens with content from the reader’s own city, and quizzes built around rock music let a legendary radio station play to the identity it already has. Local relevance became a feature rather than a constraint.

Hanza Media

Hanza Media publishes a portfolio of newspapers and magazines, each with its own subscriber base. The e-kiosk brings all of it into one place: digital subscriptions, an e-paper reader, and an app where a subscriber finds every title they pay for. One system instead of one per publication.

Politika

Politika is the oldest daily newspaper in Serbia, and both its daily edition and its subscription business needed to work on a phone. The webshop and e-kiosk handle subscriptions and delivery, and the app puts every issue in a reader’s pocket. A title with more than a century of history, distributed the way people read now.

Večer

Večer wanted an app built for readers who pay, not for casual traffic. Premium content, the daily e-paper and a web kiosk sit behind a single subscription, so the app serves subscribers instead of chasing clicks. A publisher that decided depth was worth more than reach.

Insajder

Insajder’s investigative programmes were yielding one or two social clips per episode, because cutting them by hand took time nobody had. Automatic clip generation with subtitles now produces two to three times that from the same episode, for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. The reporting reaches audiences that would never sit through the full programme.

National broadcasters

Three national public broadcasters run Litteraworks inside their daily editorial workflow. Every broadcast hour is speech that has to become text: transcripts, subtitles, an archive somebody can actually search. Work that used to be typed is now reviewed.

Ringier Serbia

Ringier Serbia’s journalists were watching live television to find the quotes worth writing about. Litteraworks transcribes the broadcast as it airs, so an editor searches text instead of scrubbing video and drafts the article straight from the transcript. Hours of watching became minutes of reading.

News agencies

For a news agency, minutes decide whether a story is theirs. These agencies use Litteraworks to turn recorded audio into publishable text fast enough to matter: press conferences, statements and interviews transcribed while the event is still live.

Sports clubs

Press conferences, interviews and manager reactions arrive as audio and have to become content the same day. Both clubs use Litteraworks to transcribe, translate, draft articles and cut subtitled clips, so the media team spends its time editing rather than typing. Matchday content that keeps up with matchday.

Star

Star wanted every article on the site available as audio, in Greek. Litteraworks text-to-speech provides natural-sounding Greek voices across the whole publication, so readers can listen instead of read. One text, two ways to consume it, and a real accessibility gain.

Serbian Football League

Superliga Srbije produces photo and video from every matchday, media day and league event, and all of it has to reach the clubs. That used to mean WhatsApp groups and WeTransfer links that expired; now every club works from one searchable archive with permanent access. The league’s archive and its daily distribution became the same system.

FK Partizan

FK Partizan’s photographers shoot from the pitch and upload straight into Pchela, where an image is ready to publish and share with media within minutes. The same archive holds the club’s historical photo and video collection, searchable by what’s actually in the file rather than by folder name. Daily workflow and long-term archive in one place.

Media 24

Media 24’s photographers shoot across the country, and every image has to reach the newsroom while it still matters. They upload from the field directly into Pchela, where AI tagging makes each photo findable the moment it lands, and journalists pull what they need without asking anyone. Nothing sits between the shoot and the story.

What Our Partners Say

"A reliable partner we can always count on. App Works offers the ideal combination of innovative products and dedicated support. Beyond their top-tier technical expertise, what we value most about App Works is their fantastic communication and speed of response. We feel like they're part of our team, not just external collaborators."

Predrag Urošević

Insajder

"I started using Litteraworks in recent weeks and, I must confess, was skeptical to begin with. How beneficial would it actually be? How much time would be spent reviewing, editing, and correcting multiple grammatical errors? I was genuinely taken aback by the accuracy and speed of the transcription. It has had a significant impact on reducing the team's workload and I cannot recommend it higher."

Paul Morrisey

QPR

"A great team of professionals, the collaboration is at a very high level. We specifically use the website, CMS, mobile app and LitteraWorks, and we are extremely satisfied with all the platforms. We look forward to continuing our cooperation."

Mirko Panajotović

FK Partizan

"Working with App Works has been extremely useful and efficient for us. Littera not only saves our journalists time, letting them give the writing itself more attention, but also gives them the confidence that the transcript is precise and reliable. That matters especially today, when the speed at which information is published is one of the key factors in a media outlet's visibility."

Danas

Technology partner on EU-funded projects

We join European consortia as the technology partner: building the platforms, running the engineering, and carrying the reporting that comes with public funding. Institutions vet us before they fund us, which is a useful signal for commercial clients too.

Erasmus+

Education and training. We build the learning platforms, assessment tools and digital resources that school projects need, the kind that end up in classrooms rather than in a final report.

Creative Europe

Europe’s culture and media sector. We work on the technology side of newsroom sustainability: publishing platforms, distribution and the shared tools that small, independent media can’t build alone.

CERV

Citizens’ rights, equality and democratic participation. We build the civic technology that puts this work in front of the public instead of in a policy paper: media literacy tools, secure reporting systems, participation platforms.

Horizon Europe

Research and innovation. We bring applied engineering to research consortia, turning experimental work in AI and language technology into systems that actually run.
